Directions to SFSU & AnimeFX Meetings

SF State University is known as a "commuter college." There are many ways to get to our campus, mainly by Muni, SamTrans, BART or driving. However, getting there can be an adventure in itself. And once you're there, trying to park your car can become a huge headache, or yet, even a nightmare!

So we've created this page just so you won't get lost. Here are some helpful directions to guide you. Note: The guide was taken from the Parking & Transportation @ SFSU website.

Automobile (cars, trucks, SUVs, Vespa?)

From the North: Take Highway 101 South, cross the Golden Gate Bridge. Take the
19th Avenue/Highway 1 exit. Follow 19th Avenue to campus at Holloway Avenue. To get
to the parking garage, turn right onto Holloway Ave and continue to Font Blvd. Turn right
onto Font Blvd. and continue to Lake Merced Blvd. Turn right onto Lake Merced Blvd,
then take an immediate right onto State Drive which is the entrance to the parking garage.

From the South: Take I-280 North, exit at 19th Avenue. Take Junipero Serra Boulevard to Holloway Avenue, turn left on Holloway Avenue to campus at 19th Avenue.

To get to the parking garage, continue on Holloway Ave to Font Blvd. Turn right onto Font Blvd. and continue to Lake Merced Blvd. Turn right onto Lake Merced Blvd. then take an immediate right onto State Drive which is the entrance to the parking garage.

From the East: Take I-80 West across the Bay Bridge to Highway 101 South. Take 101 South
to I-280 toward Daly City. Take the San Jose Avenue/Mission St. exit (immediately after the
Ocean Avenue exit), bearing right onto Sagamore Street to Brotherhood Way to Junipero
Serra Boulevard North. Take Junipero Serra Boulevard to Holloway Avenue, turn left on
Holloway Avenue to campus at 19th Avenue.

To get directly to the parking garage stay on Brotherhood Way and turn right onto Lake Merced Blvd. Turn right onto State Drive which is the third light after turning onto Lake Merced Blvd.
and immediately after Font Blvd.

BART – Bay Area Rapid Transit

Take any San Francisco-bound BART train to the Daly City BART station. SFSU runs a free shuttle service to campus from the Daly City BART station during the normal school year. Buses are scheduled every 15 minutes, Monday - Thursday, from 7a.m. until 10:30p.m. (last 19th Ave. pick-up at 10p.m.) and on Fridays from 7a.m. until 7p.m. (last 19th Ave. pick-up at 6:50p.m.) There is no shuttle service on weekends, during the summer, or on campus holidays.

Obtain a transfer (good for one ride to & from BART) from the machine in the lobby before exiting the station. Exit at the 19th Ave. & Holloway Ave stop.

MUNI – SF Municipal Railway

From downtown San Francisco or Balboa Park Station, take the MUNI Metro M-Oceanview line.
The campus is also served by the following MUNI bus lines: 17 Parkmerced, 18 46th Ave, 28 19th Ave, and 29 Sunset.

SamTrans – San Mateo Transit System

The campus is served by the 122 Stonestown/South San Francisco BART line. Take the 122 to Stonestown, then walk down 19th Ave to the campus.
